Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Shadow. He was so well loved, he had proper vet care, he only had one loving person, and they literally had to drag him into the shelter to leave him. It was scarring. For Shadow, and for all who witnessed it.
Humans are far from perfect and sometimes their lives do implode, despite their best efforts. So, for that reason, we cannot dwell on the ‘why’ of Shadow’s heartbreak, bc we need the energy to come together and find the answer to the ‘what happens’ now.
He is reserved, withdrawn, stressed by loud barking, challenged by other male dogs. He needs an out. He has slowly shown improvement with the staff, but he will not mentally survive the kennel environment for much longer.
Shadow needs a calm, quiet home. A home where he can destress, be separated, or be the only dog. He is most likely a shepherd mix, and he does have a prey drive for chickens and cats, so no small animals would be best for his new home.
We know it may be difficult to place a reserved dog like Shadow. We are asking that you share this post. And please take time to go to the NK AP Shelter to meet him.
