Meet Montaro: Montaro is a 3-year-old mixed-breed dog who was rescued from Palm Beach Animal Care and Control in January of 2025. He is a lively, affectionate dog with a moderate to high energy level, making him best suited for adopters who have some experience with dogs and can provide guidance, structure, and enrichment. Montaro is housetrained, knows basic commands, and loves cuddling with his people. He enjoys playtime, attention, and interactive activities that engage both his body and mind. Montaro can be selective with other dogs and requires proper introductions and ongoing management to ensure safe and positive interactions. He also has a tendency to guard his food from other dogs, a behavior known as resource guarding. This is a natural behavior and does not make him a bad dog; with proper management and respect for his boundaries, Montaro can coexist safely and happily with the right canine companions. With a patient and experienced family who can provide structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement, Montaro is ready to thrive as a loyal, loving, and energetic companion in his forever home.

If you are interested in adopting a dog from us please visit the ranch. Our website adoptions page has all of our availalbe dogs and our adoption application at www.bdrr.org/adopt. This will help us make sure we find you the right dog to fit your situation and family. You are welcomed to come to the ranch seven days a week or you can make an appointment with our adoption desk. Our adoption fees range depending on the dog's breed, age and other factors.
