Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Get ready to unleash a flood of "Awwws" and "I wants!"—because who could resist falling for this face... especially when it’s staring at you like you owe it a lifetime supply of treats?
Meet Acadia, the 6-week-old, 4lb shepherd mix who’s already mastered the art of being ridiculously adorable. She’s got all the perks: fluffy? Check. Gets along with other dogs? Of course. Cats? Well, she thinks she’ll love them—though we’re still waiting for the final ruling on whether they’ll enjoy being tackled by a miniature bear cub with zero personal boundaries. She’s also convinced that every human she meets hung the moon and walks on water, so brace yourself for the kind of worship reserved for celebrities and particularly talented TikTokers. Oh, and she would be totally into kids—if they’re looking for a furry shadow who will consider them the center of the universe.
Acadia isn’t exactly a "couch potato" (unless you count the occasional power nap), but she’s definitely not running a marathon anytime soon. If you’re looking for a dog who will calmly sip tea and watch Netflix with you, keep scrolling. But if you want a pup who will make sure your heart rate stays up—whether it's because she’s trying to catch the neighbor’s squirrel or simply because she refuses to let you out of her sight—then she's your gal. Ideal home? Somewhere with plenty of space to run, an energetic family that loves adventure, and a cozy couch to cuddle up with everyone once all is said and done. Long story short, if you’re a fan of peace, quiet, and naps—this might not be the puppy for you.
Acadia is a delightful mix of playful and gentle—basically the perfect balance of a puppy who thinks she’s both a majestic lion and the tiniest lap dog. Instead of attacking your shoes with reckless abandon like some of her more energetic peers, she’ll sit at your feet, gazing up at you with those big, soulful eyes, silently willing you to bend down and give her all the pets. She’s like the puppy version of that one friend who definitely reads your mood before making a move—very observant, very attentive, and maybe a little too good at giving the "I’m waiting for my turn" look. As one of the larger pups in the litter, she’s got a bit of a “big girl” complex and will take full advantage of that when playing with her smaller siblings, but don’t worry, she’s gentle about it—unless you're a squeaky toy, then all bets are off. As for her favorite activities, Acadia is a classic mix of "let’s play" and "please pet me, human" all rolled into one. She loves toys—so much so that she might think they’re her personal treasure, but when it comes to playtime with other dogs, she’s all in. Don’t be fooled by her gentle demeanor though—she’s got a competitive streak, especially when there’s fun to be had. And yes, she adores her foster mom, like, a lot. If there's anyone she thinks hung the moon, it's definitely her....and if you are lucky maybe one day it will be you. ;)
So, if you’re thinking about adopting Acadia, buckle up, buttercup—because this little lady isn’t going to raise herself. You’re going to need to socialize her, which means exposing her to the world and all its weirdness—dogs, people, mailmen, squirrels, possibly even that mysterious vacuum cleaner that haunts your house. Training? Oh, she’ll need that too. Lots of it. We're talking potty training, leash training, and all the fun things that come with the wonderful world of puppyhood. If you’re not into teaching her how to be a civilized member of society and can’t stand the idea of having a dog who thinks your shoes are a chew toy, maybe think twice. She’s not going to magically “get it” just because you wish she would. (And if you don't have the patience for that, there’s always a cactus—low maintenance, no chewing.)
Alright, folks, here’s your chance to adopt Acadia, the fluffy whirlwind of adorableness. But, before you start imagining her snuggling up on your couch, remember that you’ll need to fill out an adoption application at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app. Yeah, that little form that lets us send her off to her foster family so they can approve of your ability to handle her puppy charm. And don’t forget—she’s hanging out in Oklahoma City, OK, so you’ll need to pick her up from there. We know, we know—Oklahoma City isn’t next door, but hey, the puppy cuddles will be worth it. She’s ready to pack her bags around March 22, so if you’re ready to have your life turned upside down in the best possible way, fill out that application. Hurry, before someone else gets to claim this perfect, slightly mischievous little angel!
