My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Thor!

A spirited six-and-a-half-year-old Siberian Husky mix currently living in Bend, OR, whose vibrant personality is as bold as his stunning tricolor coat. This 75-pound bundle of energy is a true adventurer, always ready for a hike, a game of tug-of-war, or a well-earned car ride with the windows down! But beneath his athletic exterior, Thor is also a big softie who thrives on love, attention, and—most importantly—companionship.

Thor is incredibly intelligent and has completed two obedience classes, mastering commands like sit, stay, lay down, and more. However, true to his Husky nature, he’s got a stubborn streak and can be a bit selective about listening—especially when he’s caught up in an exciting outdoor scent! He’s protective of his home and his people, making him a loyal and watchful companion, whether on the trails or curled up at your side.

This handsome guy has had some tough experiences with other dogs in the past, making him a bit cautious during introductions. But with the right approach—slow and steady—he can make great canine friends! He’s also quite the cat lover, happily coexisting with feline companions. His playful, goofy nature shines through in everything he does, from splashing in his beloved kitty pool to joyfully greeting fast-food drive-thru attendants in hopes of a pup cup treat!

Thor’s biggest challenge? Separation anxiety. He bonds deeply with his people and struggles when left alone, expressing his feelings with heartfelt howls. His ideal home would be with someone who has time to spend with him, providing the affection and structure he needs to feel secure. He’d do best in a home with a fenced yard where he can stretch his legs and burn off energy, as regular exercise is key to keeping this high-energy pup happy.

Thor is neutered, microchipped, house-trained, and up to date on vaccinations. He does need a dental cleaning, but otherwise, he’s ready to bring his infectious joy to a new loving family.

Reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com to meet Thor. He’s ready to embark on his next great adventure!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our ultimate goal is to unite as many animals with loving pet parents as possible, so we strive to make it easy to adopt a dog or cat you have fallen in love with. All we ask is that you fill out an adoption application so that we have all the information we need to determine that you'll be able to provide a safe and compassionate home to one of our rescued pets. Once approved, all you need to do is sign our adoption agreement form and provide an adoption donation so that we can continue to save more animals every day and unite them with families just like yours.
