Sabrina is an outgoing 2-year-old gal who will come up right away to say hello. She is friendly and curious, with a striking black-and-white coat and big green eyes. She is a bit of a chonk, weighing in at 13 lbs, but that just means she has an extra-big heart! She will greet you right at the door everyday when you come home and rub against your legs, purring very loudly. In fact, she is grateful for affection and begins loudly purring almost immediately. She loves everybody, and is always up for fun. While she has a mellow personality, she won't turn down any opportunities for high-energy play. Whether it's a mouse or wand toy or something new, count her in. Though she doesn't work hard, she certainly plays hard and will run around until she is out of breath. She enjoys chin scratches and happily shows affection, showing off her super-big heart.

We have worked hard to make our adoption process as easy as possible. We like to think of the process in four steps: application, phone conversation, meet and greet and adoption day. We will get back to applicants within a few days even if they were not chosen.

All of our animals are in foster homes. To meet an animal please fill out our adoption application and we will get back to you to schedule a meet and greet if it seems it could be a good fit.

Paws and Claws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Chicagoland area dedicated to preventing, and alleviating the suffering caused by abuse, neglect, and overpopulation. We help dogs and cats mentally and physically heal, and give them a chance to find love, a full life, and a forever home.
Our focus is on rescuing orphaned neonatal kittens, nursing kittens with their feral mothers, under-socialized cats, and dogs who have been at Chicago Animal Care and Control for too long. We see ourselves as the crossing guards for these vulnerable animals, helping them get from their past, whether that be from a traumatic home, a kennel, or a euthanasia list, to a safe and kind human who will love them.
