My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lexi is a big beautiful girl who is now ready to find her forever home. Lexi came into the rescue via a local shelter. She had been picked up in horrible condition. She was an emaciated had a raging ear infection and was also suffering from a major skin condition. She was missing fur on most of her back legs and tail and smelled horrible. She was clearly in pain and uncomfortable but yet was very eager to engage an interact with people. Lexi went through several months of medicated baths on a weekly basis as well as some medications and some good food and has recovered nicely. She is now a gorgeous black and tan female. She is a big girl! She is tall and lanky. Lexi is between eight and nine years old but you would never know it. She is quite nimble and has a beautiful lying trot! Lexi is a sweet girl who is dedicated to her people. She is at that perfect age where she still has energy and yet is not bouncing off the walls. Lexi is very smart girl and is very food motivated. She is housebroken and crate trained but does not exhibit any destructive behaviors when left loose. Lexi would love a home where she can be the center of attention. I think she would be best as an only dog. She does well with male dogs but seems a little anxious/dominant around hyper female dogs. I believe she's an alpha female. Lexi LOVES the tennis ball. If you have a fenced yard and would throw the ball for her 10 to 15 minutes a day she would be the happiest dog on the planet. She also knows how to bring the ball back and drop it at your feet so you can throw it again. She also enjoys going for walks. In the evenings she's perfectly content to sit on the couch with you and watch TV or chill out on a dog bed. She just wants you to be near her people. Lexi is an all-around great girl who is going to make some lucky person or family a great companion. More about this rescue

Thank you for considering adopting a GSRA dog. We love that you are exploring rescuing a GSD. We firmly believe that the adoption of a dog is not one to be taken lightly. Because of this belief, our adoption process is what some would described as lengthy and can be emotional. If you are looking to take a dog home "tomorrow", unfortunately our organization is not for you.
