Meet Matilda – A Gentle, Devoted Companion Who Thrives on Love
Matilda is a calm, affectionate rescue dog with a heart full of devotion and an incredible love for her people. She is fully potty trained and wonderfully well-mannered in the home. Matilda uses a doggy door with ease and remains very calm indoors, making her a peaceful and comforting presence in daily life.
At bedtime, Matilda settles in beautifully. She willingly goes to sleep in a kennel and sleeps through the night without a single whine, showing how adaptable and trusting she is. In a home environment, she is not destructive and does well when left alone, patiently waiting for her people to return.
Matilda rides well tethered in the car with no car sickness and enjoys being included in outings. She loves people of all ages and forms deep bonds quickly. True to her loyal nature, she follows her favorite humans from room to room and will quietly sit outside a closed door just to remain close.
She gets along well with other dogs and does not initiate play, but coexists peacefully. Matilda would be perfectly happy as an only dog—not because she isn’t social, but because she truly loves attention. Extremely affectionate, she adores snuggling and sleeps contentedly on a bed beside her family. She also loves toys and enjoys having something to play with or cuddle. Another favorite of Matilda’s is water—she delights in splashing, wading, and spending time near it whenever she can.
Matilda has a gentle curiosity about the world around her. If something interesting is on the other side of a fence, she may dig to investigate. At her foster family’s home, she loved to quietly mingle with the deer nearby. She never chased or tried to harm them and would patiently sit and watch, even waiting for them when they weren’t around.
Matilda’s ideal home is with a person or family who is home most of the time. Confident, people-focused, and loving, she would also do well at social gatherings and out in public.
This sweet girl is being fostered in Seguin, TX, where she’s getting all the care she needs. She is spayed, heartworm negative, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and on regular flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives. For the right family, Matilda can be transported to the Northeast or the Pacific Northwest to start her forever life.
