Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hey there! I’m Bert — a ridiculously good-looking pup (seriously, people stop me on walks), with a heart as big as my zoomies. At first, I might hang back a bit… gotta make sure you’re cool. But give me a moment (and maybe a treat or two), and I’ll be nuzzling into your lap like we’ve been best friends forever. I’m a certified cuddle bug — leaning into hugs, curling up close, and soaking up every bit of love. Now, if there’s water around? I’m in it. Splash zones, puddles, lakes — you name it. I’m a water-loving goofball with a tail that just won’t quit wagging. And don’t be surprised if I randomly explode into a zoom — it`s just how I celebrate being alive. Toys? I’ve got a few favorites. Treats? Yes, please. Hugs? Always. Basically, I’m just one big bundle of joy wrapped in a gorgeous coat and a happy heart. Can’t wait to meet you — I’ve got cuddles to give and zooms to share!

More about this shelter
The Animal Defense League was established in 1934 by a group of individuals, “for the prevention of cruelty to animals; to promote kind and humane treatment of animals; and to aid and assist the enforcement of laws enacted for the prevention of animal cruelty.”
In 1961, ADL moved to its present location in the easily accessible northeast part of San Antonio. Its campus encompasses more than 12 acres and includes a two-acre pet park. On the property is an Adoption Center with a small retail store, and a separate 5,000 square-foot Clinic which houses our veterinary hospital that provides onsite spay/neuter surgery, surgery for injured and ill animals, and ongoing medical care for all ADL resident animals.
