The famous words of Julius Caesar “I came, I saw, I conquered” might be words meowed by this big, puffy-cheeked, ginger boy. He is a former stray from Niagara Falls who is looking for his decisive victory in a loving home with a quiet place to curl up.
ABOUT JULIUS - At shelter - Julius is a shy boy, but with the right approach he can be pet by hand, especially if he’s laying down practicing his potato moves. He prefers chin scratches, but, if he’s in the mood, a shoulder rub, a back scratch, or some forehead pets will do. - You will often find Julius snuggled up with his best buddy, Spirit, for a cozy nap. - Playing with his beloved wand toy gives Julius a chance to show off his goofy side. - Julius is a skittish cat who has had minimal experience with humans. - Julius is currently enrolled in EHS’s socialization program, where dedicated volunteers are working to help him become more comfortable around people. - Julius has FIV, which is a virus that weakens the immune system of a cat but is not transmissible to humans or other species. - Julius is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.
JULIUS’S IDEAL HOME - Julius is looking for a patient family who will work with him to build up his confidence. - Julius is part of a bonded pair and MUST be adopted with his partner, Spirit, who also has FIV. - A skittish cat will benefit from a calm, quiet environment, preferably without small children. - Potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help Julius settle into his new environment. EHS will provide post-adoption support to assist Julius with a successful transition to his forever home. - Julius does not require medication but vet checkups twice a year are recommended. - Cats who have FIV can live just as long as other cats if they are properly cared for with a good diet, an indoor home, and a loving family.
With a little patience, a churu treat (or two), and some chin scritches, you will soon win Julius over. Is Julius the right fit for you? Apply to adopt him today!
