My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Victoria Falls (my friends call me Vivi) and I would like to share with you a cover letter of some of my hobbies and achievements as a cat. I am looking to adopt a human soon and I want someone aligned with my goals. To start off, I am the esteemed president of the I Hate Vacuums society. Somebody has to do it! I am also the founder and CEO of the napping all day committee. I love to cuddle and sleep in my bed with my foster human. In my spare time I am also an avid foodie and I love to eat (wet food only!). I’ve also been perfecting my bunny hop (you never know when this will come in handy). I am very affectionate and would consider myself a person cat, but I can’t say that I really love other cats. I am the star of the show after all. We’ll get along great if you love to give treats, cuddles, and accept me as the princess that I am. I can’t wait to meet you!

Victoria Falls was rescued with dental issues and had surgery. We would be thrilled for a potential adopter to provide a larger adoption donation (between $250 and $400 total) and/or assistance crowdsourcing funds towards their necessary vet bills if possible.

This cat has a mild case of Cerebellar Hypoplasia,  is a neurological condition in which the cerebellum is smaller than usual or not completely developed. Affectionately known as a Wobbly Cat, this disorder is not progressive or contagious, and doesn’t cause any serious health problems – she just has a distinctive, quirky (and honestly very cute) way of walking around. She sometimes trips over her own feet, but she gets right back up and keeps going! The Internet loves wobbly cats, so she has real viral video potential -- and we have lots of resources to help you get her setup successfully.

This cat would prefer to be adopted alone and be the only cat in the home.

More about this rescue

Our rescue group was formed in December 2007, but all our Board Members have had extensive experience rescuing and working with abandoned animals. We often work with other rescue organizations to find appropriate and safe foster and adoptive homes for our pet clients. We regularly go to areas with abandoned animals and collect them. The animals are taken to a licensed veterinarian examined, treated and spayed or neutered. Every effort is made to work with the animal and our foster and adoptive families to find a suitable forever home.

For those animals who are truly wild and feral, we release the animal in a safe and secure location after it has recovered from its medical treatment. We also work with certified wildlife rehabilitators to rescue injured and orphaned wildlife. Our organization is focused on improving the welfare of the abandoned animals in need of help in Brooklyn. In furthering that goal, our resources are focused on the animals.

Aside from a few minimal overhead costs such as our website and phone services, our entire budget is spent on animal care such as medical and food costs.
