My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***I am currently in a foster home. Please call to schedule an appointment***

My name is Mikey!

I am a fun guy who is full of energy, but also like a good snooze on the couch. In my previous foster home, I was crate trained, housebroken, and the best snuggle bug you ever met! I am looking to be the only pet in your home as I don`t like to share my toys with other animals. When I`m not prancing around in the sunshine or sniffing and exploring, I love to play with my favorite humans, cuddle, and make them laugh. I will do best in a home with older kids or teens because of my energetic behavior. I`m young and goofy, a silly boy through and through. I love to learn things and enjoy training for a yummy treat. If you are looking for a loyal, lifelong best friend, come and meet me today.

Mikey is a special guy that we`d love for you to meet a few times to get to know him best. Call to set up your first date with this handsome boy!

Here`s what Mikey`s foster parents have to say about him:
Ever met a 60lb+ lapdog dog? Here’s your chance! Mikey is a sweet, goofy boy who doesn’t quite realize how big he is—but that just means there’s more of him to love! He adores spending time with his favorite humans (or really anyone who’s up for a good game of fetch). Once playtime is over, Mikey is happy to curl up for some couch time and ear scritches.

He’s a big fan of car rides—especially when he can stick his head out the window, feel the wind in his fur, and take in all the smells. Mikey is also smart and highly food-motivated, making training both fun and rewarding. Since he’s still young and full of energy, we continue to work with him on his manners.

Lately, we’ve discovered that Mikey enjoys being around children, though he sometimes forgets just how big he is (hence, the lapdog vibes). With love, structure, and a bit of continued guidance, Mikey will be a loyal, lifelong companion for the right family.

If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog`s better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict.
