Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sweet Pedro finally got a spot in a foster home. He has been doing so well! Here is what his foster has to say.
"So it took me a minute to get Pedro figured out. But once he burned off the pent up energy from being stuck in the shelter, it pretty quickly became evident...
He is a giant baby. In the sweetest, goofiest way. He is dopey and cute, and frankly, irresistable . He wants to curl his whole body up on your lap, and give you one his silly smoosh face kisses. He will wedge his head behind your shoulder when you aren't paying attention to him on the couch. Or if you stop petting him too soon, he may also physically MOVE your hand back to him. He is a world class snuggle bug.
I still can't explain why my own dogs have not had any real response to his presence, but that continues to be the case. Blue is still completely unphased as well. In fact, here is a cute pic of the 2 of them watching tv together. They get along incredibly well. I think Blue may actually prefer him over most of our resident dogs.
We have ditched the belly band, as he has not had a single accident in the house. He goes out when the other dogs go, and quickly does his business, and comes back in. We also believe he is likely an American Bulldog mix. His legs are short and his body stocky. His build definitely suggests strong ABD genes are in there. 1-2 years old seems likely for his age, based on his pearly whites and his behavior and energy level.
His first night home, he slept like a log, which we knew he would. That was his first restful night of sleep in God only knows how long. But since then, we discovered that he is afraid of the dark. He had started crying in his kennel after everyone went to bed. Which is super unlike him, because he does not mind being kenneled at all. After hearing him cry for a few minutes, once we all headed to our rooms, Casey was pretty sure he knew what the problem was. So he went upstairs and turned on a nightlight. That stopped the crying instantly. He, once again, slept like an angel all night in his kennel.
This goes hand in hand with everything we are seeing. He is a big baby and a big scaredy cat. Loud sounds will send him scootin' out of the room in a hurry. Even when he causes them...like dropping one of the hard BarkBox super chewer toys. LOL
It's really endearing. He is just so innocent and dopey. Truly just a big ole baby. I don't know what I did right to deserve this many consecutive super easy fosters, but I am not complaining!
Next I am going to try to get a video of him gently playing tug with Isabelle's tiny dog, Lucy. Those 2 were insta-besties!"
