Hi… I’m Grace.

I’ve been here for over a year now, quietly hoping someone will see me for who I am. I’m about 8 years old and I do have kidney disease, but what matters most is that I need a calm, understanding home. I have some trust issues, so I’m not the kind of cat who rushes up for attention. I need time, patience, and someone willing to let me set the pace.

I like having my own safe space—my little cubby is where I feel most comfortable, away from the noise of the world. I’m not barn cat material at all; I want to be indoors, safe, and respected. A quiet home with a gentle person who understands shy cats would be my dream.

My adoption fee is sponsored, so all I need is someone willing to give me a chance. I deserve a loving home where I can feel secure, earn trust slowly, and simply be who I am.

As always, cats that are ready to be adopted are spayed/neutered, have age appropriate shots, are micro-chipped, dewormed/deflead, and FEL/FIV tested.

Our animal listings are updated daily to reflect any adoptions, sometimes even minutes after the adoption. Should you see an animal you are interested in please visit our website (ahimsahaven.org) to fill out an Adoption Application.

As we are an all volunteer organization, we are not able to answer phone/email inquiries about specific cats until your application has been submitted and approved.

Some animals are part of our Take A Chance On Me program and have a small adoption fee. You can see which ones on our website's "Take A Chance On Me" page.

Our adoption fees include spay or neuter, vaccinations. Ahimsa Haven Animal Rescue is a nonprofit organization, so your donations are tax deductible. Our adoption policies are as follows: We require a signed adoption contract, and payment of adoption fee prior to placement. Fee is refundable if the animal is returned within 30 days. We require that the animal be returned to our care, in the event the placement does not work out even if that is many years in the future.

Ahimsa Haven was incorporated in 1999 as a nonprofit animal rescue group. Our mission is to find good homes for abandoned, homeless and unwanted domestic animals.

Ahimsa is a term from an eastern religion that means "To do no harm, in thought or deed, to any living creature". Every penny we raise goes to the animals - no one gets a salary!
