My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Simba!

This silly, goofy boy is full of personality and always ready for fun. If you like your dogs playful, athletic, affectionate, and photogenic, Simba might just be your perfect match!

Simba is a 4-year-old mixed breed with his coloring, were guessing some shepherd, but at only 45 pounds, we prefer to call him 100% supermutt. Hes bursting with energy and charm!

Bring out the toy box and head to the yard Simba loves choosing his favorites for the day, especially for games of fetch and tug. Hes a superstar athlete who can leap into the air to catch a ball mid-flight (check out his video to see him in action!). Hes also a big fan of the doggie pool, especially when theres ice to lounge on. Simba even joined a sand volleyball tournament recently, where he was very interested in the game if hed been off-leash, he mightve run off with the ball!

But Simba isnt all play. He also enjoys car rides, cuddles, and attention from his people. Hed do best with older kids (10+) who can join in on his adventures. Simba knows his sit and stay commands, though he wants to be upfront cats and vet visits arent really his thing. He does well with other dogs after slow introductions and has been friendly and social at pet store events.

Simba would thrive in an active home that can give him plenty of walks and playtime in a fenced yard. If youre looking for a fun, loving, and athletic companion, Simba is ready to be your boy!

https://caninecollective.org/adoption-application/

Our adoption process takes several steps and cannot be completed in one day. All of our volunteers work full time and assist the rescue in their spare time. Please allow 2-3 business days for a response.

* Applicants must be willing to make a ten plus year commitment to their new family member.

* Applicants must commit to daily exercise, walks, trips to the dog park or play in the back yard. A well exercised dog is a happy well behaved dog!

* Applicants living in a rental property must provide proof of pet policy from landlord.

* Applicants must provide a veterinarian reference and if there are existing dogs in the household. All pets must be spayed/neutered and current on all shots and heartworm medication.

*Please allow at least a 7-14 day adjustment period for your new dog. Rescue dogs go thru a lot of changes and need a few days to get used to their new surroundings and adjust. Adopting a dog should be a serious commitment, so please be willing to work out the kinks. Our dogs aren't perfect but with proper training and guidance they make awesome, loving pets.

*Our adoption fees vary based on the age and medical needs of the dogs.
