My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wait....hang on a minute...this ain't no dachshund!!!! Yep - you are correct. But we consider this little muppet an honorary ween. Her owner needed help with 3 dogs, 2 were dachshunds, and how could we say no to this bundle of goodness?!? No way Jose!!! No dogs left behind. So meet Miss Coco Bean, a Havamalt, and an unofficial dachshund all in 1 bundle of pure sunshine & sweetness. Google the Havamalt breed for more character traits.

Coco Bean is one of the sweetest dogs we've had the pleasure to assist. Her foster mom says she's near perfect in every way possible. Polite. House trained. Loves other dogs of all sizes. Good with people of all ages. She has suffered with bladder stones in the past and had them surgically removed. Coco Bean is on a low-phosphorus diet, which is very easy to acquire thru normal sources. She has been on this food for many months now and since controlling her food, she now has no signs of any reoccurence. Coco Bean (aka Little Miss Muffet) enjoys spending her days relaxing pretty much anywhere she can find to curl up, including with the other dogs in her foster home.

If you are interested in adopting Coco Bean, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. Coco Bean's adoption fee is $350.

All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Coco Bean will go to his / her new home microchipped, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed.

Almost every dog's veterinary expenses exceed our adoption fees; we are a non-profit.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia.

Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited. We focus on Georgia, but if you are in a neighboring state, we might be able to work something out - we'll expect you to do your part.

DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
