Murphy Lee is very loving to his human. He was rescued from the Uvalde shelter and was VERY scared. He is still timid and needs a very quiet home where he will have the time and attention he needs. He is very special and worth it!
He is very loving but needs a minute to warm up given his past. The best way is to start by ignoring him. After a few hours, he’ll take a treat. After a day or two, he will be approachable for petting. Soon he will be a velcro dog and let you know he wants to be petted by turning sideways.
This handsome boy is great on a leash and loves going on walks. He is eager to go outside and obeys when requested to come back into the house. He’s house trained and crate trained. He dances and tippy toes his way to his “house” (crate). Murphy Lee is also working hard on learning new things — he’s already picking up “sit” like a pro!
He is good with other dogs but not a fan of children or toys. He will alert you when someone is outside and will quiet down when you ask.
He has no special dietary restrictions. He loves homemade dog food over kibble. While he is good with other dogs but will try to take their food so it is best to keep him away when feeding others.
Adoption fee is waived to the right home.
ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com.
Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee.
Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs.

More about this rescue
CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death. We provide shots, spay/neuter, microchip, foster homes, food, medical treatment and love to dogs that are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. In addition to caring for our dogs and finding the best possible home for them, we provide education to the community; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership. If needed, our rescue dogs are retrained to socialize in an adoptive loving family. We have had phenomenal success, and amazing support from our community. We believe that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for them. We are partnered with many Shelters to help them reach the same goal.
