Opei's favorite thing is snuggling and cuddling in bed with her person - the bed is her favorite spot in the house. Her second and third favorite things, in no particular order, are laying in a sunny patch on the floor while her person is busy, and being pet while she is eating. She is a sugar sweet girl and prefers to be the only cat in the home with someone who is home a lot. Opei was adopted when she was a kitten, and sadly this year (2025) her mom passed away. The whole family was heartbroken for her mom, and Opei. She took excellent care of her and showered her wtih love, attention and lots of special things including two cat trees all for Opei! Opei is now safe in a foster home and is doing really well - she misses her mom but responds so well to being loved. If you are interested in being Opei's new forever person and have the time and love to give this special girl, please let us know! We made a promise to her mom's family that Opei will be safe, loved, and cared for forever.

Due to COVID-19, we are not currently holding in-person adoption events. Most of our cats are in foster homes and we are doing virtual meet-and-greets with them.
We also have adoptable cats at our two partner cat cafes – CatCafe Lounge (https://www.catcafelounge.com/) in West Los Angeles and Cat Therapy (https://www.cattherapysb.com/) in Santa Barbara. You can make a reservation on their websites, or we can arrange a meeting by appointment once you have filled-out our application and spoken to our team.

More about this rescue
Stray Cat Alliance is a non-profit organization focused on educating and empowering communities to advocate for every cat’s right to be safe, healthy, and valued. Everyday, our team works to save the helpless lives of kittens and cats by providing: spay/neuter, trap-neuter-return (TNR), adoptions, wellness care, medical care, and community shelter support. Our goals are to:
-Eradicate cruelty toward cats through advocacy, rescue, and education.
-Find loving forever homes for cats and kittens taken in through all of our programs.
-Help shelters transform from executioners to safe havens for cats by implementing SCA’s life-saving policies and procedures.
-Educate the community about the plight of free‐roaming cats and empower people to take action to stop population growth through spay and neuter.
-Create and sustain a No-Kill Nation by mentoring other communities to become no-kill through our grassroots programs.
Stray Cat Alliance envisions a time when all cats are valued and safe whether in homes or communities, and when shelters serve as temporary safe havens.
