Meet Arlo, a sweet and curious 3.5-year-old Cocker Spaniel/Chihuahua mix looking for a new home. His owner is unable to keep him due to housing issues and wants to find him a loving, stable environment.

Gender: Male (not neutered)
Vaccinations: Needs vaccines
Temperament: Friendly but can be nervous with new people; warms up with time
Potty Training: Needs some help, as he was primarily left outside, but he is crate trained
Other Pets: Has lived with other dogs
Children: Has not had any issues
Behavior: Does not show resource guarding with food or toys
Fears: Scared of fire and smoke—will hide and take time to calm down
Personality: Playful once comfortable or will observe with curiosity

All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months). All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control. To adopt you must have a photo ID and proof of your current address. If not on your ID then bring in a bill with your name and your current address. If you rent you must provide a lease clearly stating the pet policy or provide a name and phone number for your landlord so that we may confirm the pet policy. If you own your home you may provide a mortgage statement or property tax bill for proof.

You must be 18 years or older to adopt.

If you wish to adopt a dog and have other dog(s) at home, please bring them with you to the shelter so that they may meet. Even if your dog is wonderful with other dogs, many of the dogs at the shelter have come in as strays so we have no history on them and need to be sure they get along with your pet(s).
