Here's what the humans have to say about me:
*** To alleviate the need to bring an animal into the shelter environment, The Anti-Cruelty Society has the Home-to-Home Shelter Bypass service to help people find new accommodations for their pets privately. These animals are not located in any of the Society`s physical locations. If you are interested in adopting this animal, please do NOT click the Adopt Me button and instead reach out to the current owner directly via the email provided in the profile. As this is a Home-to-Home animal you are not required to fill out an Anti-Cruelty Society adoption application form. ***
Calypso is a tiny, sweet, green-eyed purring machine! She was found on a busy street, sleeping in neighbors` flower pots and garden beds to survive the cold. I visited her for over a month to bring her food, which she always gleefully accepted with a sweet chirp and twine around my legs. On sunny days, she could be seen zipping across the road and rubbing her small cheek on car fenders. It was a no-brainer to take her inside, and she`s since accepted domestic life without hesitation.
She loves to eat, talk (the cutest baby chirps!), play, sunbathe, and nap on her favorite blanket. While adorably small, she`s a very brave and adventurous girl! Calypso has also been exposed to my pets (a male cat and a large dog) and I think has the disposition to make a great cat sibling in the future. She has never been around children, but Calypso is very affectionate toward my roommate and I. No health issues, no meds, no dietary restrictions.
She is ideal for someone who has had cats before and has experience reading their behavior and responding gently and kindly. She will make it clear when she`s reached her max with petting by swishing her tail or doing a soft swipe. Wait for her to calm down and she`ll be back to headbutting your shins and rumbling in no time. Since indoor life is new to her, she`s pretty easy to please! She plays with all the discarded toys my 13-pound cat has no patience for and I have yet to see her turn down a bite of food!
