My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*** To alleviate the need to bring an animal into the shelter environment, The Anti-Cruelty Society has the Home-to-Home Shelter Bypass service to help people find new accommodations for their pets privately. These animals are not located in any of the Society`s physical locations. If you are interested in adopting this animal, please do NOT click the Adopt Me button and instead reach out to the current owner directly via the email provided in the profile. As this is a Home-to-Home animal you are not required to fill out an Anti-Cruelty Society adoption application form. ***

A detailed personality profile that includes:
The animal’s behavior around other pets: He’s playful with other dogs, but our only experience with him around other dogs is those dogs being aggressive toward Bluey. At CACC, he did not bark at other dogs or get aggressive with dogs that approached him (on leash). We have not observed him around other animals. To be frank, I think it would be ideal if Bluey was in a home where he is the only dog, but that is based on our limited experience with him being the target.
The animal’s behavior around children: He has been wonderful with our 5 y/o and ~3 y/o children. He has bumped into them a few times, but that’s to be expected. He sleeps with our 3 y/o and my husband (copied here) every night.
Any past or existing health issues that the animal has had:
When we brought Bluey home, he had “happy tail” injuries, but those wounds have since healed. He also had mites, but those have also been resolved with medication.
He has a cut on his nose and forehead from other dogs, and patches on his skin from wearing a harness. Those are resolving.
Last week Bluey ate a children’s toy and had to be admitted to VCA Aurora for potential exploratory surgery. They were able to get the toy out without having to perform surgery. We currently have him on a chicken/rice diet, but no ongoing medical needs.
Any medication the animal may currently be taking: None.
Any dietary restrictions that the animal may have: Right now, we have him on a chicken and rice diet for the toy incident referenced above, but we were only asked to do that for a few days. He was otherwise eating kibble.
The animal’s training history (especially whether or not the animal is housebroken): Bluey is housebroken. He knows certain commands (sit, stay, down), but we don’t otherwise have information on his training history.
