My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ernie! 🐾

When Ernie first came to us, we discovered he had heartworms—but thanks to one of our amazing staff members, Kaitlyn, he got to recover in a calm foster home while getting treatment. 💙

And guess what? The vet says Ernie is officially heartworm free! 🎉 He’s back at the shelter and ready to find his forever family—and his adoption fee is fully sponsored by his foster family. 🙌

Ernie is a American Staffordshire Terrier mix with the perfect combo of charm, goofiness, and loyalty. He’s got a sweet soul, a silly streak, and enough love to fill your whole house. Whether he’s making you laugh with his antics or cuddling up like the world’s best buddy, Ernie is guaranteed to steal your heart. ❤️

He’s waited long enough—now he’s ready for a lifetime of belly rubs, treats, and love. Could Ernie be your new best friend? 🐶✨

Their adoption process

1.

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

We like to meet prospective adopters and be with them when they meet a potential new pet.

2.

Meet the Pet

Meet and greets are strongly encouraged if there are other dog(s) and/or cat(s) or children in the home

3.

Sign Adoption Contract

Renter's are required to provide letter from landlord approving a pet or additional pet

4.

Pay Fee

Our fees are low and do not cover much of the expenses we put into the animal prior to its becoming available for adoption.

5.

Take the Pet Home

We ask new owners to not return an animal before 9 days so its entry time can restart.

6.

Take the Pet Home

We remind the new family that it may take up to 3 months for a dog to decompress, learn the the family's routine, and feel at home.

Additional adoption info

We have the right and responsibility to the animal and the prospective new owner to refuse an adoption.
