My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Coraline!
Coraline is a 2-3 year old Domestic Short hair with a heart full of love and an incredibly sharp mind. She’s playful, active, and always up for some fun—whether it’s chasing toys, exploring new spaces, or getting cuddles, Coraline is never short on enthusiasm!

Recently, we discovered that Coraline loves outdoor adventures and does wonderfully on a harness for walks. Her curious nature makes her the perfect companion for someone who wants a smart, energetic kitty to share both playtime and relaxation.

If you’re looking for an affectionate, playful, and adventurous cat, Coraline would love to meet you!

Go meet their pets

To meet our pets, we ask that you schedule an appointment with a member of our rescue team. We offer dog and cat meet-and-greets seven days a week at a mutually agreed-upon time to ensure each visit is personalized and unrushed.

In addition, we host adoption events on average every other weekend at our local Pet Supplies Plus, giving the community another opportunity to connect with our adoptable animals.

More about this rescue

Waiting On A Friend Rescue is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals in need. Our mission is simple: every animal deserves a safe, loving, and happy life.

We primarily rescue animals from Bowling Green Animal Society, as well as from local private owner surrenders. By stepping in, we’re able to give these animals a second chance at the futures they deserve.

As a small but passionate team of fewer than five staff members, we provide individualized care and support to every animal that enters our rescue. In our very first year, we celebrated over 100 successful adoptions—a milestone that reflects both our commitment and our community’s compassion.

Beyond placing animals into loving forever homes, we are dedicated to educating our community about responsible breeding, adoption, and the ongoing homeless animal crisis. Together, we believe we can create lasting change, one rescue at a time.
