People always notice my face first — half black, half white — like someone painted me down the middle. But the part they don’t see right away is what I’ve been through.
I came from a place no living thing should call home. It was loud, filthy, and cruel. My previous owner didn’t know how to be kind. I was neglected, ignored, sometimes hurt… never truly seen. I didn’t know what love felt like.
When I was rescued, I was underweight, sickly, and scared. But I never lashed out. That’s not who I am. I just kept to myself, too shy to trust, too tired to try.
Everything changed when I went to my foster home. My foster mom gave me soft words, warm beds, and space to heal. She said my food — real, nutritious, good-for-me food — was made possible by a group called Greater Good Charities. It helped my body heal, but even more than that, it told me I mattered.
I’ve come so far since those first days. I still take a moment to warm up to strangers, but I don’t hide anymore. I walk with my head up. I wag my tail. I’ve never shown aggression — not even when I was afraid — and now, I’m learning to enjoy meeting new people.
I’m Paris. I’m about 50 pounds, 2 years old, a terrier mix with a face you won’t forget — and a heart that’s ready to love fully. I’ve gone from surviving to thriving.
I’m still waiting here at True Friends Animal Rescue in Oklahoma City, hoping someone sees in me what my foster mom sees: not a broken dog, but a brave one.
Could you be the one who gives me forever?
