Meet Tyson! Affectionately known as “Tyson the Mighty Bison!” While he may not be massive in size (just 38lbs!), his heart, spirit, and resilience are larger than life. Photos don’t quite capture how compact and small this little guy truly is.
Tyson is a gentle, affectionate boy who thrives on connection. He loves being close to his people, whether that means curling up in your lap, draping himself across your arm, or nestling in wherever he can fit. He also loves to play with other dogs and has a goofy side that comes out during games of chase, tug-of-war, or his personal favorite - a little game we call “bite-n-booty.”
He warms up beautifully with a slow, kind approach and responds especially well to treats (mealtime is a highlight of his day!). While he’s doing great with crate training, Tyson is still working on house training and will need a patient adopter to continue helping him adjust. It’s possible he didn’t spend much time inside a home before coming to us, but he’s learning quickly.
Tyson recently met some cats and, true to his sweet nature, was a bit scared but respectful. If there are children in his forever home, they’ll need to be older (teenagers and up), as loud or sudden movements can make him a little nervous.
If you're looking for a small/medium-sized snuggle buddy who’s equal parts tender and active, Tyson might just be your guy. He’s ready for someone to show him that a gentle, loving home can be forever.
DNA Results (Embark): 36% American Bully, 25.7% Chihuahua, 16.5% Small Poodle, 14% American Pit Bull Terrier, 7.8% Miniature Pinscher
Adoption Application: www.jasperslegacy.org/apply-to-adopt
************************
Tyson is located in a foster home. We are happy to coordinate a meet & greet for pre-approved adopters. To get started, please submit an adoption application at www.jasperslegacy.org/apply-to-adopt
Adoption process:
Potential adopters complete our online application. From there, we contact them to continue the screening process including checking references, vet checks, and a personal phone interview. Upon completion, potential adopters are pre-approved.
From there, potential adopters are put in touch with the foster parent(s) of the dog they are interested in adopting. If a specific dog is not in mind, admins will make suggestions based on who we feel will be good candidates for their home. We take the foster's opinions into high consideration when determining ideal fit for an adoption.
Once the dog is determined to be a good fit for the adoptive home, the adopter is given advisement on decompression, training, safety gear, and future preventative vetting. The adoption contract is signed and adoption fee paid to finalize the adoption.
