Meet the Pet
This helps Ho-Bo Care Boxer Rescue with pet care costs.
Meet Rolly Polly, a 4 year old male Boxer - Bulldog mix. Rolly is a strikingly handsome big boy. He is smart, motivated, a great listener, and so eager to bond with his people. He loves walks, picks up training quickly, and has the perfect balance of energy and calm. After a good outing or toy frolic, he’ll happily curl up and snooze right beside you. He’s also an excellent car buddy — the kind who rides shotgun, rests a paw on the armrest, and naps like he owns the playlist.
He tends to inhale his meals but does great with a slow feeder. He does need reminders to take treats gently, but he listens beautifully when you remind him. He hasn’t chewed anything in the home he shouldn't. Great listener, he'll go lay on his bed when told, stick his face in the towel when told "clean your face".
Crates aren’t his favorite place, but he’s done perfect being limited to the living room when home alone where he enjoys gazing out the front window and napping. He's even done great left to free-roam for short periods of time, we just close doors to where we don’t want him getting into; and he's always in the living room waiting for us when we get back and so happy to see us!
Rolly is a velcro dog in the sweetest way. He thrives on being close to his people — moving from room to room with you, snuggling, supervising chores, and settling at your feet. He gives his whole heart. He's a great work from home companion; naps all day next to his foster, plays, and will check-in for booty scratches.
Rolly is polite on walks and shows no leash reactivity.
Rolly loves toys; throws them up and catches them, pounces on them, whips himself with them, and is a power chewer!
Rolly will do best with older kids since his bursts of excitement, rough play, overzealous mouth, and playful "mouth your hand" moments could be too much for smaller children. He LOVES fetch (currently restricted for 2-3 months due to tplo surgery), will present a toy for tug of war or when he wants to play. But he doesn't like when you take toys away from him when he's having an intent chew/play session.
Rolly is a wonderful dog who just needs the right match — someone patient, playful, active, and ready for a loyal shadow who wants to be part of everything.
