Here's what the humans have to say about me:
ABOUT TWISTER
This handsome gentleman is a 5-year-old mixed breed who loves everyone! Twister came to HAP from a high-intake shelter in Louisiana when they no longer had space for him. Although he hasn't been with us long, Twister is an energetic, friendly, and lovable dog who brings joy to everyone he meets. Whether he's enjoying an afternoon stroll, chasing squirrels, or playing with toys, this pup loves to spend time with people outdoors! Despite his high energy, he’s gentle on the leash and well-mannered, especially when treats are involved. He would make the perfect walking, running, or hiking partner. Twister is super social, loves attention, and has a sweet, handsome charm that turns heads wherever he goes. At all, have you seen those adorable ears?! A true good boy through and through! Twister has loved participating in our Doggy Day Out program too. Check out what our volunteers had to say about him:
"I had such a great time with Twister! He was so excited to get outside and sniff everything. We walked around the reservoir and creek, stopped for a pup cup, and said hi to some of my friends. He was so friendly and loved being outside. We relaxed in my apartment for a little bit and he sat perfectly for some treats. He’s such a good boy! Everyone who saw us walking told him how handsome he is too!" - Amanda
"Full of energy and excitement, Twister and I had an adventurous walk throughout my neighborhood. We encountered a squirrel while walking, which put Twister in full speed mode to chase but all was fun. My family also enjoyed his sweet presence which brought smiles to their faces. Overall, definitely happy to have spent my day with Twister!" - Candice
"Spent the morning with Twister! He was so full of energy and ready for a walk. He ran around the backyard and played tug of war too. For how excited he was, Twister was very gentle and didn’t pull hard on the leash. He was very food motivated too. I had such a good day with this sweet boy! - Taylor
If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
