My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Elle Woods, Purtorney at Law

Facts About Me Breed: Domestic shorthair Color: Tortoiseshell Age: 6 months Sex: Female

My Info: Spayed Shots Up to Date House-trained Good with cats No dogs Not a great fit for younger children

My Story: Small but mighty, Elle was found alone in an attorney's parking lot, very sick. A kind stranger decided to do something about it, and turned her little life around.

She is now a spoiled, spunky, (mostly) healthy girl full of life looking for a forever home with her foster brother, Dave.

I say mostly healthy, because unfortunately, Elle does have feline herpes. It's not transferable to humans, and up to 90% of cats have been exposed. Most don't ever show symptoms. Elle was just very young when she contracted it, and she almost lost her eye. She sees and gets around just fine. She just needs a family that will help her manage her symptoms (a daily supplement and occasional warm washcloth). It tends to flare up during seasonal changes; so allergy suffers, you will understand her plight.

Elle and Dave are a bonded pair. They both battled and won against Panleukopenia, and forged such a wonderful bond while they recovered. Elle is not the lap cat her foster brother is, but she is always nearby. She loves to follow her people around the house. She loves wand toys, playing “soccer” with little ball toys, and wrestling with Dave.

They are leary of small children, but do seem to like older kids and teens.

**All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter. All animals will be spayed or neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV or heartworm, given age-appropriate boosters and rabies, dewormed, flea treated, and anything extra that is needed to give this animal a wonderful forever life in a permanent home. Adoption fees are usually $50 for cats and between $150-$250 for dogs, unless the pet is sponsored or we are running a promotion. Please visit our website at sheltertohome.com for information on our adoption process.**March 28, 2025, 10:37 pm
