Meet Emmy
Sweet Emmy is a deeply affectionate, people-loving girl who is ready to be the center of someone’s world. She found herself in rescue after struggling with inconsistent litter box use in her previous home. Multiple veterinary visits and testing ruled out medical causes, and it’s believed her challenges were stress-related.
Emmy has since been placed on a low-maintenance anxiety medication (a transdermal gel gently rubbed on her ear) and has responded beautifully. Bonus perk: she lives for ear scritches and happily considers them part of her daily routine.
Through her journey, we’ve learned that Emmy truly shines when she doesn’t have to share her space. Her previous home included dogs, and her foster home includes cats, so it’s believed Emmy’s ideal environment is as an only pet, where she can relax, feel secure, and reign as the queen she was always meant to be.
Emmy can be a bit shy at first, but once she decides you’re her person, she transforms into a full-time snuggle expert. She loves closeness, affection, and being involved in her human’s daily life.
Her perfect match is someone who understands that a calm, predictable home and being the sole focus of attention can make all the difference. With the right environment and continued care, we are hopeful Emmy will thrive.
An approved application is required to schedule a meet and greet.

We show some of our adoptable dogs at PetSmart, Utica, each Saturday between the hours of 11:00am and 3:00pm. Cats typically don't do well at events, so they only attend with a pre-approved meet and greet appointment. If you are interested in a particular pet, we suggest you email: mmarpaws@gmail.com to see if that pet will be there.
Applications are approved on the basis of the best and most appropriate home for the animal, not on a first come, first served basis. On site adoption available to pre-approved applicants only.
Adoption fees go towards vaccines, heartworm prevention/testing, flea/tick prevention, spay/neuter and other medical problems that may arise.
MMAR is an all volunteer, foster based, 501 (c) 3, non profit organization. Without your donation, wonderful pets like these have to be passed by because we cannot afford their care.
