My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HI - I'M CARTER, a sweet, loving and strong 3- to 4-year-old Doberman/Shepherd mix. I was originally rescued from a California shelter and am now in a foster home! I'm a dream dog! I am house-trained and crate trained (I love my crate), great with other dogs, and am currently learning how to get along with horses.

I love running, playing with my squeaky toys, going for walks and cuddling with humans. If you let me, I'll share your bed! I have an easygoing and funny personality, and am looking for someone to offer me a safe and comfortable home. I would do well with a fenced yard as I love to do the zoomies! I'm super smart and I learn quickly: I know the commands of "easy" (when I'm getting a treat), "stay" and I am learning to sit on command.

I would thrive in an active, calm, family-oriented environment. I would do well with a single person, a couple or a family. I love kids and other dogs, and would love to wrestle with teenagers! I can also be low energy as I love to lay around and relax, too. I weight 68 lbs.

I will soon be needing a new foster, too, so if you can foster or adopt me, please email for an application. I'm a great dog.
