My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

❤  IN VERMONT  ❤

Meet Freddie!  https://youtu.be/moIFH_tCvow

Freddie is almost 2 years old, male (approx. DOB 4-17-23), 82 lbs., vetted, is or will be neutered and micro-chipped. Hubba hubba handsome!

Hello! I'm Freddie, and I'm a young, medium-plus energy dog who is ready to be your best friend and loyal sidekick. I'm a socially outgoing guy—I love people of all kinds, and I've been great with the kids I've met! I'm an equal-opportunity friend to all dogs, and I'm happy to either be your one and only or have a canine pal to share my life with.

I know the commands Sit, Shake, and Stay, although "Stay" only works if there aren't any exciting squirrels nearby. I'm a confident, smart, and loyal pup, but I can get a little excited when we're out on the town. When I see other dogs or people, I tend to get vocal and might pull, mostly because I just have a lot to say! Think of me as a dog who needs a little help with his outdoor manners, but with persistence and patience (and treats!), I'm eager to learn.

I'm potty-trained and a good boy when I'm left alone, though I might have a mild case of FOMO when you first leave. I'm also a self-appointed "critter control" specialist—squirrels and rabbits should consider themselves warned! For this reason, my forever home should probably not have cats. My ideal life includes a fenced-in yard where I can run and play, an active family who loves to give attention, and owners committed to continuing my positive training. I just want to make you proud!

If you are interested in adopting Freddie please fill out an Application at  www.Passion-4-Paws.org  (please make sure you have the Vermont site not CT) - thanks!

Disclosure:   Breed labels are often incorrect: we rarely know the genetic lineage of the dogs we rescue.  Many shelters and rescues specify breeds based on appearance; however, research has shown that less than 2% of a dog’s DNA determines appearance!   Passion 4 Paws does not practice the use of labels pertaining to compatibility with others or dog breed.  Labels such as “dog friendly” and “child friendly” should be used with caution as they often over-simplify the personalities and behavior of dogs.

Foster based! All of our pups are in homes so they can benefit from a home environment versus a boarding/shelter environment to prepare for their forever homes!

More about this rescue

Passion 4 Paws is an animal rescue organization founded by Robin Shover of Shelburne, Vermont. Robin has invested many years learning best practices to rescue dogs primarily from death row at high kill shelters. Robin works very closely with Potters Angels Rescue out of Randolph, Vermont and decided the most effective way to save even more dogs is to continue working closely with PAR plus her own new entity in Chittenden County and surrounding areas. Many people who personally know Robin realize her "passion" and dedication to the dogs. P4Ps rescues dogs from high kill shelters, provides a safe environment with foster families and adopters, education for the community, and advocacy for animal rights. Our group will be staffed entirely by volunteers and will be served by a Board of Directors. Our efforts will be supported through donations, charity events, Corporate/Employee Benefit tax deductible donation programs, and the generosity of animal lovers from within the community. Our focus is on dog rescue only. All funds received will be used strictly for this purpose and will incorporate medical bills, transport fees, food and other items for the dogs, shelter fees, charity events, boarding, and training.
