Birdie is feeling so much better after her eye surgery and dental—she had seven teeth pulled and is already on the mend! This sweet 7 1/2 year old, 17 lb. Yorkie mix is ready to find her forever home. Her foster parents say she’s working hard on shedding a few pounds but taking it slow to ensure a healthy transition. Following the vet’s advice, they’ve adjusted her diet by replacing half of her food with fresh vegetables—and she’s loving it! Since her surgery, Birdie’s personality has truly blossomed. She enjoys the company of other dogs and has even started to play! She has the cutest little run and is quite silly. She’s both kennel and potty trained and would thrive in just about any environment, whether with or without other dogs. Birdie does require eye drops to be administered throughout the day, but she does not mind at all! If you think Birdie would be a wonderful addition to your family, please submit an application at www.rescuerowinc.org.

Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs.
