My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Mins. I like to think of myself as an independent gal who enjoys the company of a human without the clinginess of being overly needy. Sadly, I was brought to the Animal Center in March when my original human could no longer care for me. I tend to be shy in unfamiliar surroundings, so I was having a hard time settling into the new shelter environment. Thankfully, that made me a great cat-idate for their foster program. I've been in my foster home for a little over a month now and my foster mom says although I am still shy, she's super happy with my progress. I am a great eater, I love treats (BTW...Churus are the best); I use my litter box and have wonderful house manners. My foster mom says I'm a night owl and yes, I sometimes get the zoomies, but I like to think I'm the ninja night guardian of my kingdom, and I take securing the castle and proving safety for everyone within seriously...LOL. I love pom poms, balls and scratching post. I often like to perch myself on high levels to oversee what's happening below but will come down to give my favorite person the enjoyment of brushing and petting me... when I'm in the mood. If you are looking for an easy-going furry friend that is not constantly underfoot, then I may be the one for you. Contact the Animal Center to see if we could be a PURR-fect match. If you are interested in learning more about this pet, call the Montgomery County, Virginia, Animal Care and Adoption Center at 540-382-5795.

More about this shelter

The Animal Care and Adoption Center (ACAC) opened on April 29, 2017 to provide care to stray and adoptable pets in the county.

The center's primary goal is to increase animal adoptions by expanding visitation and maximizing visibility in a setting where prospective pet owners visit dogs in an outdoor courtyard and cats in community rooms. Through partnerships with local animal groups and volunteers, the center emphasizes increasing adoptions and returning pets to their owners.

The Animal Care and Adoption Center's 16,300-square-foot-facility replaces a 1970s-era masonry facility that only housed dogs. The ACAC has the capacity to house 68 dogs and 64 cats.

ADOPTION FEES
