Amber is a resilient and affectionate 3.5-year-old, 60-pound mixed-breed dog who has overcome a challenging start to life. Surrendered to a city shelter while pregnant, she was fortunate to find a loving foster home where she safely delivered and cared for her puppies. Now that her puppies are nearly weaned, Amber is ready to find a forever home of her own.
Personality & Behavior:
Amber is a devoted companion who forms strong bonds with her caregivers.
She enjoys following her people around and resting at their feet, showcasing her affectionate nature.
Potty-trained and appreciative of a consistent routine, Amber thrives in a structured environment.
While she has not been tested with cats or children, her gentle demeanor suggests she may do well with both, pending proper introductions.
Ideal Home:
Amber would flourish in a home where she can be close to her humans and maintain a regular schedule.
She gets along with other dogs, making her a suitable companion for a household with existing canine members.
Health & Adoption Details:
Age: 3.5 years
Weight: 60 lbs
Spayed: Yes
Vaccinations: Up-to-date
Location: Dothan, AL, with the rescue willing to meet serious adopters in the Atlanta area.
If you're interested in giving Amber the loving home she deserves, please reach out to Southern Dog Mission at sdm.katrina@gmail.com.
Amber's journey from a shelter to a nurturing foster home highlights her resilience and capacity for love. She is now ready to share that love with a forever family.
To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $125; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.
