My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Peaches šŸ‘

This sweet Himalayan girl was found as a stray in March 2025. Based on her body condition, it’s likely she was used for breeding and then discarded once she became ā€œtoo oldā€; which is typically around 2 - 3 years old. At that time, breeder rabbits are sometimes (rarely) kept as pets, but more often they’re culled for meat, given away, or simply set loose.

We estimate Peaches is no older than 3 or 4, but her body tells a different story .. it reflects the wear and tear of living in a cramped wire bottom cage, forced to endure giving birth over and over.

Luckily for Peaches she’ll never have to go through that again. She is spayed and available for adoption through our F2A (foster-to-adopt) program.

More about this rescue

SOS FL Animal Rescue is a non-profit rescue for rabbits and guinea pigs. We are animal lovers who are experienced rabbit and guinea pig owners. We both fostered small animals with other rescues for years before meeting each other and deciding to start our own rescue so that more rabbits and guinea pigs could be saved. We take in all rabbits and guinea pigs, including unwanted animals, seniors, and medical cases.
