My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*Adoption Fee Partially Sponsored

Brahn has now been at FFAA for 6 months and counting. When we met him, we fell in love. Imagine our suprise when this many days in, he remains here without a single application turned in with his name on it, and zero meet and greets at the shelter. We've learned so much about this eager gem of a dog in his time here.

Initially a JHS dog who grew up in the shelter system, Brahn had been adopted earlier in 2025. Sadly, due to no fault of his own, his adoptive family surrendered him at Faithful Friends as a stray. We are now on the mission to do our best to find his forever home with a family that will be more dedicated in caring for him than his first.

Because of his length of stay, Brahn has gotten to go on lots of adventures this summer. Our awesome Doggy Day Out volunteers have taken him on outings both by himself and with other dogs. Brahn is a hiking and water dog through and through. He will always love the opportunity to swim, wade, and splash around. He loves being in the water so much that you'll even catch him fully laying down in it! He also got to spend a day on the river with FFAA staff. Despite his high energy level, it seems that some R&R on the riverside relaxed him just like it relaxes us! He was on his best behavior while out and about - calm, quiet, friendly, and an enjoyable companion.

As office dog, Brahn is first and foremost eager to connect with humans. He eventually entertains himself with toys (he likes rubber Chuck-It balls the best of all), but he makes sure to constantly check in with any human in the room, even with just a glance. On the off-chance that you glance back at him, he's there at your side, insisting on cuddles, kind words, and some petting, pretty please.

During walks, Brahn shows off his skills best on a 10+ foot line - the removal of tension from the leash removes the urge to pull and adds agency to his walks. He has a suprisingly robust recall in response to his name. His sit command is rock solid, he's getting there with "down," and he's even started laying the groundwork for a great "wait" command. Brahn has a HIGH food drive, so it should be no suprise that he will work enthusiastically for kibble, even in a distracting environment like the great outdoors. He's even willing to trade his toy for treats anytime (which makes for a great future drop it/out command).

He LOVES making new human friends and seems unable to remember his size. In an effort to get as close as possible, he's always one step away from trying to crawl into your lap. Although he can be a little pushy or over-eager, with guidance, patience, and some tasty treats, he's a quick study when it comes to learning how to regulate his big emotions and is happy to find his manners once he's been shown how.

With his positive outlook on life, infectious enjoyment of the good things it has to offer (friends, food, and play), and adorable ears, Brahn deserves to have a family that will stick it out with him past the adjustment period. This dog is highly social and would love an active family that will include him in their daily life. Yes, he's high energy. But he's also eager to please, highly food motivated, loves connecting with his human friends, and loves learning new things. The effort that caring for him takes will be rewarded tenfold with the loyal, kind, loving, and hilarious dog that will surely blossom in a home environment.

More about this shelter

Faithful Friends Animal Advocates, Inc is a non-profit organization committed to helping our community become a place where animals are treated with kindness and respect. Further, we want to be a voice for the welfare of animals in our community through various avenues.

We fulfill these goals by taking in homeless and vulnerable animals, rehabilitating, vetting, and preparing them for their future home, and ensuring that they are a good fit for those interested. Our goal is longevity - we are thorough when approving applications because we want their next home to be forever.

Our pledge to the animals under our charge knows no time limits. Our no-kill mission means that as long as it takes, we will keep searching for their perfect home. And if during that search, they need to rejoin our care, we welcome them with open arms no matter how long it has been.

People
From our paid staff to volunteers that support us at events and throughout the week, the dedicated and passionate community members that are involved in FFAA's mission are what keep us going. We always welcome new faces! If you are interested or know someone who would like to support our efforts, please contact us. We could not do it without our foster families, dog walkers, kennel cleaners, puppy and kitten socializers, event organizers, artists, chefs - everything we do is a group effort and thanks to the time and effort given freely and faithfully year after year.
