My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Beatrice’s journey began at our local shelter, where she arrived with a severely injured leg. After careful evaluation and X-rays, it was clear that the kindest option was amputation—to give her a pain-free start to the next chapter of her life. And wow, has she embraced it with joy!

This one-year-old sweetheart may have just three legs, but she doesn’t let that slow her down one bit. Weighing in at a petite 30 lbs, Beatrice is all wagging tail and playful energy, especially when romping around with her foster siblings. Her gentle soul shines through—she may be shy when you first meet her, but once she warms up, she’ll steal your heart in an instant.

Beatrice is fully vetted and ready to meet her forever family. She would thrive in a loving home that celebrates her spirit and understands the beauty of resilience. She’s proof that even with a rough start, joy always finds a way.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Adoption is a four part process.

Application: You will be required to submit general information along with personal and vet references.

Home visit: Potential adopters will receive a home visit by one of our members.

Meet -n- Greet: All family members (fur babies included) must meet the foster parent and pup they wish to adopt.

Here at Dirt Road Doggies Rescue, each adoption contribution is a flat rate per dog. We do not adjust this rate based on the "popularity" of a dog. We believe every dog is worthy of an owner that sees the value in them. Each adoption contribution is used to cover the expenses incurred for that dog and other dogs in our program.

Go meet their pets

Dirt Road Doggies Rescue, INC is located in the quaint town of Gillsville, in the foothills of the Georgia Mountains, just south of Gainesville. Our rescues are fostered in loving homes located in Hall, Jackson, and neighboring counties.

More about this rescue

We are a small canine rescue group located in Northeast Georgia that works tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, fully vet, and re-home faithful dogs that have been tossed out of cars onto rural roads. We are a registered, 501c3 tax deductible Non Profit Rescue and we are licensed by the Georgia Department of Agriculture

All dogs in our program have been previously reported to animal control to ensure they were not lost pups who had a family diligently looking for them. We do not turn a dog away due to breed, health concerns, or age. It is our goal to keep these dogs out of animal shelters, thus saving their lives and providing more time to the dogs already in shelters to find their forever family.
