My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Her brain is oatmeal. She’s very cute but her brain is nonexistent. Kind of like a weird roommate that you feed and tend to. Slow to warm up, but gets very friendly when she wants attention and pets.
Eira is a sweet girl, but it took six months for her to be comfortable enough to let me pet her. She needs a quiet, young kid free, crazy dog free home that will allow her to warm up at her own pace. She’s perfectly fine to be her own cat, and likes to play by herself, but really benefitted from seeing how other cats get along and interact with people. She loves to be brushed and talked to, loves cardboard scratchers and string. She loves to cook in the sunlight and watch birds. She’s such a peculiar cat. Because of how shy she is, she does not show well. She really needs a patient and quiet person who is looking for a friend for their cat. She is not going to snuggle up with the other cats, but will spend her time around them and perhaps a positive influence will make her more snuggly. She can be picked up for quick moments, but is not a lap cat nor a carry-able cat. im sure if given all the time in the world, she will finally settle and truly show you how strange she is. Unsure about dog interaction, most likely would be ok if other cat was dog friendly to lead her verrrry slowly. Older kids (teens/tweens) only.

More about this rescue

Little Mews is an all volunteer, non profit, 501(c)3, no-kill, animal rescue organization. We take in cats and kittens from a variety of situations, most are stray, unwanted, neglected or abused. We can also refer you to other organizations in the area that have dogs, cats and other animals for adoption and have information about low cost spay and neuter options.

All our cats and kittens who are ready for adoption have been checked by a vet, vaccinated for FVRCP, rabies (if over 4 months), tested for Feline Leukemia, FIV, wormed, and spayed/neutered if old enough. Any health conditions are treated so that the cats can be adopted as healthy as possible.

Our goal is to find safe, healthy, forever homes for cats and to promote spay/neuter so that the number of unwanted cats is lowered every year. We want each cat and kitten adopted to a home where it will live forever.
