Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Jay, a two-year-old, 22-pound Cairn Terrier mix with an adorably scruffy face. Jay was overwhelmed and extremely nervous during his time at the Maricopa County shelter, but once he arrived at Home Fur Good, his true personality began to shine. Despite his fear, Jay was always gentle with the staff in ISO, and now that he's on the adoption floor, he’s a whole new dog—bursting with excitement, tail wagging, and ready for love.
Jay loves people and will happily trot over to say hello, especially if there’s a welcoming lap to curl up in. He can still get a little nervous when someone stands over him, but kneel down and offer a kind chest scritch, and you’ll have a new best friend. Jay enjoys chasing balls, takes treats politely, and though he doesn’t yet know basic commands, he’s eager to learn and build trust.
Jay is a Guardian Angel dog with a $300 adoption fee. This higher fee helps offset the cost of caring for rescues with medical or behavioral needs or long stays. Every Guardian Angel adoption helps another pup in need!
Jay’s adoption includes neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Come meet Jay during adoption hours: Thursday–Saturday, 11 a.m.–4 p.m., by appointment—call 602-971-1334 to schedule your visit. Jay can’t wait to find his forever family!
