Tater has been doing very well in his foster home since being returned to our care after four years. Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve gotten to know him again, and one thing is clear—he is an incredibly sweet and loving dog. Tater is well-behaved, quiet, and laid-back. He was returned because he began guarding his adopters from the other dog in the home, whom he had lived with since puppyhood. We offered to send a trainer, but after learning they had moved to Ohio, it became clear that long-distance support wouldn’t be an option. Given how long this behavior has gone unaddressed, we believe Tater would do best as an only dog. That said, Tater enjoys going on walks, does well on a leash, and is not reactive to other dogs. He loves people, including children, and is both house trained and crate trained. Tater is a 4 1/2 year old English Bulldog/Pit Bull mix. *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash or a check made out to Rescue Row):
Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee
Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee
Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs.
