Sapphire is a 6 year old (born 4/4/2019) blue eyed beauty with adorable “freckles” on her pretty face. She has been a loving companion to her senior owners ever since she was a tiny kitten. She has many more years of love to share with a new family. Sapphire received her name because of her piercing blue eyes that you can’t help but want to gaze into.

Sapphire will need a home with patience to give her a chance to become comfortable but once she knows she safe, she will show her true self but it will take time. She will probably do some hissing and growling initially but when she becomes her true self, she will enjoy sitting on laps and prefers to spend time with her people. She also purrs a lot and meows to let you know when she would appreciate having a snack. She is a master “biscuit maker” and will knead on your arms and legs to claim you. She is a little bit of a “chunker” so she will benefit from a weight loss program in her new home.

Sapphire is playful and enjoys toy mice, wand toys and she is great about scratching on her scratching post and she is very accommodating when she needs her nails trimmed. Favorite toys and other items will go with her to her new home. When new people visit, she may hide but for people that she knows she will happily greet them. She will prefer a home that is quiet and with only older children or adults. She has never lived with other cats or dogs so we are unsure how she would be with them.

Sapphire likes to cuddle in bed with her family but she may only hang out for a short time to do some night-time exploring. She is also good about being picked up. She usually never exhibits any aggression but recently she has exhibited some hissing and attempts to scratch her senior dad but they believe that is only because she is sensing some health concerns for him.

She is a fan of running water and would enjoy a pet fountain. She is a curious cat who loves looking out windows and watching all the fun things she can see. She also is a particularly good bug hunter and chooses to play with them whenever she can catch them.
