Gracie Lou has lived through more than any dog should. She spent the first five years of her life outside on a chain, but everything changed the day we met her. From that moment on, we knew she deserved so much more. We’ve been fostering Gracie for over a year now, and she has completely stolen our hearts. If our resident dogs could accept her, we wouldn’t hesitate to make her a permanent member of our family.
Now, we’re looking for that special person or couple who can promise her that she will never again return to the life she came from. She deserves peace, love, and a home where she is truly cherished.
Gracie is completely house trained and very low-maintenance. She’s happiest simply being near you or gazing out the window, taking in the world around her. Despite her difficult past, Gracie gives her love and trust so freely. She rolls onto her back for tummy rubs the minute she catches your attention, always eager for affection and connection.
She enjoys daily walks around the neighborhood—1 to 2 miles is her sweet spot—or running in a fenced yard. She’s a great car companion, too, hopping right in and ready to ride.
Gracie is very food motivated and has already mastered “sit.” She’s incredibly smart and would thrive with someone who has the time and patience to teach her even more.
She also loves toys—especially ones with squeakers. Watching her excitement over a new toy is pure joy. She walks well on a leash, though she can get a bit excited when she sees other dogs and may need a little help learning how to stay calm in those moments.
Because she’s spent so much of her life alone, Gracie truly longs for a close bond. She wants her person nearby and would do best as an only dog, in a home without cats or young children.
Gracie Lou is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, housebroken, and ready for her forever home.
Currently in foster near Frederick, MD, Gracie Lou is patiently waiting for the person who will finally make her feel safe, loved, and home.
If that could be you, Saving Webster Dogs would love to hear from you.
