My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! My name is Rocky. I`m a cute little guy who`s on the lookout for my very own special forever home! I am very shy at first - it will take me a few visits to become comfortable with you. When I know and trust you, I like to cuddle close, sit on your lap, and give you kisses! It will take me a little time to fully settle in and feel safe and comfortable when I go to my new home. I really need lots of time and patience and somebody to make sure that I stay safe while we warm up to our new surroundings. I would love an older family, in a quiet environment - do you RV? I consider that my giant dog house and I love it! I might need to be stable in the place until we`re on great terms than I`ll be ready to take on the world with you! Will you give me a chance?

If you are interested in meeting me or would like to know more about me, please call TCRAS at 719-686-7707!

Additional adoption info

To adopt:
All adoptions must be done in person. Visit the shelter to meet the adoptable animals you would like to consider. TCRAS is open 6 days a week, please see hours of operation.

Your visit with each animal will be assisted by a trained adoption specialist to answer questions, address concerns and to help you decide if the animal is a good fit for your home environment (i.e. children, other pets, specific needs, etc). You can also bring in your current pets to do a visitation (this may be required with certain animals).

In the year 2000, the Teller County Regional Animal Shelter (TCRAS) was formed and continued under this leadership to the present day. Our shelter is a small, rural shelter. Every year, over 800 lost, abandoned, neglected, or homeless dogs and cats get assistance from TCRAS. We do not euthanize for time or space.
