My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET ARCHIMEDES
Please consider spoiling a shelter dog with a DOGGY DAY OUT or fostering a shelter dog! Senior dogs make excellent pets! They have more established personalities, are already housebroken, and can be quickly bonded with. What you see is what you get! Image being 90 years old and stuck inside a shelter sleeping on floors for the last years of your precious life! That`s NO WAY to live!! Shelter life is stressful, especially for seniors!
Archimedes is an 14 year old (senior) black Labrador Retriever available for adoption from AWL since 3/29/25. Archimedes has some pretty signification hip/joint arthritis that limits his mobility. The majority of his day is spent lounging and enjoying love/snuggles from his temporary wonderful foster family. Archimedes is hoping to snag a retirement home before having to come back to the shelter! Archimedes enjoys the finer things in life! Give Archimedes a super comfy dog bed, chew toy, endless love, and he`s set!!! Are you interested in meeting and/or fostering/adopting Archimedes? Please submit application and/or call the shelter 765-362-8846.

Additional adoption info

The first thing we require the Adopters to do is fill out one of our applications. Once they get that turned into us we call landlords, vets, and references and check to make sure their animals have all been up to date and make sure their landlords( if they have one ) are okay with them bringing home a new animal. We also call the references to make sure they are good animal owners. We will also look at whether or not you have a fenced in yard and how big your yard is ( if adopting a dog). We want to make sure we have the best fit home for the animals. All of our animals have their boosters (adult or puppy). Some are fixed and some are not. We do have a spay/neuter trailer that comes to the shelter at least once a month that spay and neuters our animals.

Go meet their pets
