Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi everyone, my name is Elise and wow do I have a story to tell. I was seen by a good samaritan running around by the train tracks that go through Jersey City in Liberty State Park. Although they could not stop since they were on the train, they sounded the alarm to see if anyone was in the general area and could help. Thankfully, several people immediately went out to try and capture me. I was so happy to be safe and not out in the environment and dark.
The person who caught me decided to name me Elise since I am a female and in honor of Ellis Island. I am a small black and white dutch breed rabbit and I was recently seen by the vet to be spayed. I did awesome and I am already up and eating. Since being spayed I am now learning how to use my litterbox, and my foster mom says I am a fast learner. I only weigh 2 lbs and I am full grown. We do not believe I am older than a year of age, so I have a nice long life left ahead of me. I may be a great bonding option for any neutered males searching for a friend.
I am currently eating a proper diet of Oxbow Adult Timothy pellets, lots of timothy hay and a big bowl of fresh water that is changed daily. I love my daily salads and so far romaine, carrot tops and dandelion greens seem to be my favorite. I also love my weekly treats in moderation of course and so far banana, apple and even some blueberries are my favorites.
Would you consider opening your heart and home to a sweet little girl like me?
