Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Zelda has been a fighter from the start. She came into our care from our good friends at our local shelter. She was the kind of dog that we just couldn't leave without or we would be thinking about her endlessly. She was close to being euthanized as she had shown to previously had a broken pelvis that healed on itself AND she was pregnant.
We didn't know all the plans we were going to need to have for Zelda, but we knew we needed to help and we called one of our board members, a repeat foster who absolutely would be up for the challenge. We couldn't even finish our sentence before she said yes and here we are.
Since then Zelda's story has had a lot of twists and turns which we talked about on our social media. However, she is here, she is great, and even better she is adoptable.
Zelda currently is being fostered with 3 dogs and does so well with them. They cuddle and let each other exist and it's wonderful to watch.
She bonds hard to her people and once she's yours she could not be more loyal. She is potty trained and on a good schedule currently, we know that when a dog is in a new environment some of those items can regress but if you are committed to teaching her a new schedule she wont require much work in that department. She would love to have a play mate to romp around with and continue showing her the ropes of being a dog.
If you are interested in being considered for Zelda apply directly! If you have any questions prior to applying please email adopt@chicagorescueauthority.org. Zelda does have an open adoption radius which means that we are accepting applications outside of the 3 hour radius however adopter still must be willing to travel to Chicago to meet and finalize.

Additional adoption info
Every dog is different: personality, temperament, energy, comfort with kids and other animals, medical needs and more. We take all these factors into consideration when making a forever-home match. We are careful about the placements we make. We do our best to match the right dog with the right adoptive home because we want this to be the pet’s permanent home. These steps ensure that we have all the information needed to make the best placement for you or your family.

More about this rescue
At Chicago Rescue Authority, our mission is to create a compassionate world where every animal is treated with love, respect, and dignity. We are dedicated to educating the public about the adverse realities of the mass-production industry for puppies, raising awareness about responsible pet adoption and ownership, and actively working towards reducing the overpopulation of dogs in shelters.
Our promise to Chicago is to build our rescue on the tenets of teamwork, education and compassion. We will listen to the concerns and ideas of those around us and be ready to grow alongside this rescue and this mission.
Volunteers, fosters, donors and adopters will be the backbone of this organization, just like every other animal welfare non-profit. We will be hosting a variety of fundraisers and mixers throughout the year aimed at building our support network. We can’t wait to meet all the animals whose lives we are going to change!
