Meet Storm! This 3 year old Husky Mix was e-listed at MCACC for fear. Storm is a very shy and timid boy. These traits unfortunately did not benefit him in the shelter environment. When we met Storm at the shelter, he took his time warming up, but was very sweet.
In just a week’s time, Storm became very comfortable in his foster home. He is a medium energy boy who likes to go for walks. He has great leash manners and his pulling is minimal. He loves cuddles and will curl right up on your lap for some belly rubs! Storm also now plays with the other dogs and has been showing what an affectionate boy he can be. He marked a couple times in the first week or so in his foster home, but this was entirely adjustment-based and he has not done it at all since then. There were also a few scuffles over toys the first couple weeks, but have been no issues with other pups in months. Storm currently shares a foster home with 5 other large dogs and has been doing so great – his fosters just love him and rave about his easy he is.
Storm would do well with children of all ages, and would make a great family dog. Although we initially believed him to be good with cats, we did a follow up intro and just weren’t comfortable enough with his behavior to place him in a home with cats that can’t be separated. As far as other dogs, he plays well in his foster home with other dogs, but older mellow dogs or even a home as an only dog could fit his personality as well. He can be scared by men, and takes some time to warm up. Men in his new home would need to have patience in earning his trust. Storm continues to come out of his shell every day and is learning to be loved and cared for. He cannot wait to find a family of his own! If you think that may be you, fill out an application to meet Storm today!

Additional adoption info
We ensure that our huskies only go to families on a property with a 6ft secure fence, and remain the guardian of the animal for life - if there is ever need for a family to rehome their husky again due to health or any other major concern, we are always willing to take the dog back and find them a new home.

We do not have a physical shelter location just yet, and operate solely out of foster homes. We are planning to begin participating in adoption events in the near future - these will be listed on our website once available!
