Marcia is a cute 6-month old female kitten who was brought to the HSOV on March 16, 2025 along with her sister (Cherry) and her three brothers (Johnny, Ponyboy, and Sodapop). They were found on Ridgewood Drive in Marietta Ohio fending for themselves and relying on the kindness of neighborhood residents who helped them survive.
Marcia has a brown tabby short smooth coat, a long ringed tail, and a beautiful triangular-shaped face with golden eyes, a brown velvet nose, a dusting of white on her muzzle/chin, and long white whiskers.
Marcia and her sister Cherry have shared a cage (and most recently a large cat tower in the lobby of our shelter). Both of the girls have friendly dispositions. Marcia is the more outgoing 'social butterfly' of the pair, while Cherry is a bit more reserved/shy. They complement each other and would make a tremendous addition (together) for some lucky individual/family.
Marcia was given vaccinations, wormer, and flea treatment on March 17, 2025. She weighed 6 lbs that day. Marcia was given booster vaccines on March 29th.
These young ladies are good with other cats and children. We don't know how they feel about canine friends.
Both Marcia and Cherry will be spayed in the near future (tentatively on April 22nd) and will soon be ready to find a loving home either through adoption or rescue.
Rescue groups may contact our HSOV Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation.
Update: Marcia was spayed on April 22, 2025 and was also given rabies vaccine. She weighed 7.18 lbs that day.
Marcia and her sister Cherry are currently at WeLovPets (Lafayette Plaza/Marietta Ohio) where they are available for adoption through HSOV.
Happy Update: Marcia and Cherry were adopted together on November 19, 2025.
