Sarah is a Treeing Walker Coonhound mix born in September 2017. She came in as a stray and was never claimed. Sarah's photos don't do her beauty justice - she is a lovely sweet energetic girl. She is extremely skinny and will probably remain so as long as she is in the shelter. The environment here doesn't seem to allow her the chance to calm down so she isn't hanging on to any of her calories. She needs to go home. She keeps a clean kennel and is everything anyone could want in a companion!
All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org
When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition.

If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only.
