My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***Local adoption only: Julep needs a family in the Central Florida region (Orlando area) who will commit to taking her to her spay and to follow-up vetting appointments with PPR’s vetting partner. The cost of these appointments is covered by her donation amount.***

Hi, I’m Julep! I’m a five-month old black Lab blend who weighs 20 lbs at the moment. We’re not sure how big I’ll grow, but I do know that I’m one part shy, one part playful, and two parts love!

General Behavior: Julep is a puppy full of love who loves adventures and going on walks. She is a little timid around men and will sometimes bark, but this is improving with patient training.

Likes & Dislikes:  Julep loves to play and receive praise. She particularly loves fenced yards where she can run around and play with toys. She is still learning how toys work, though: for example, she brings back a frisbee, but really doesn’t know how to go get it.

Training: Julep is a little lady! She is making good progress on her housetraining if let out frequently. She walks well on a leash. She is even learning basic command and has mastered “sit” for a treat. She also stays when you open the front door and doesn’t try to run out.

Medical: Julep is a healthy girl! She will only need monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog. Julep also needs a family in the Central Florida region (Orlando area) who will commit to taking her to follow-up vetting appointments with PPR’s vetting partner. These appointments have already been scheduled, and their cost is covered by her donation amount.

Other Animals:  Julep loves other dogs! She would do best with a medium to large dogs, as she doesn’t realize her size around smaller dogs. She hasn’t been observed around cats, but her foster thinks she’d be OK with them.

Children: Gentle Julep is good with children of all ages.

Home: Julep would do well in a condo, apartment, or single-family home.

Grooming: With her short hair, it doesn’t seem like Julep will need much elaborate grooming apart from brushing, baths, and nail trims.

Overall: Julep will make a wonderful companion for an active family who can raise her, train her, and lover her forever.

Are you and Julep “mint” to be together? Then visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with the foster family for more information if it’s a potential match. She is up to date on vaccines.  Her adoption donation is $400.

We are a foster-based rescue organization and do not have a facility. We have all events posted on our website each month.

More about this rescue

Poodle and Pooch Rescue is a 501(c)3 non profit organization that saves dogs that truly need help. We rescue the "leftovers" from animal control, the dogs nobody wants because they're older or suffer from neglect, abuse or have a medical need. Their "last" day becomes the first day of their new life. We provide the veterinary care they need, a foster family they love and when they're ready, we adopt them to a family who cherishes them. We do not have a physical shelter because every dog lives with one of our foster families. We are all volunteers so your tax-deductible donation goes directly to help the dogs. We have saved over 5,500 dogs since 2008.
