Walker is incredibly sweet, loyal, and intelligent. He’s eager to please, responds well to training, and loves being near his people. He has a calm presence in the right environment and enjoys relaxing with his family or going for walks.
His ideal home would be a quiet, structured one without young children or high activity levels. He would thrive with someone experienced with large breeds who can continue his training, provide consistency, and help him feel safe and secure. A home with a fenced yard and no cats would be a great bonus, and he could potentially do well with another calm, well-matched dog.
Walker gets along well with our other dog, but he hasn’t been exposed to cats, so we’re unsure how he would react to them. While he’s been sweet with our daughter, due to his size and clumsiness, we believe he’d do best in a home without small children. He can also be reactive in overstimulating environments or around unfamiliar people or dogs, especially if approached too quickly. He thrives in calm, structured settings with slow introductions.
Walker is currently using an e-collar for reinforcement from his professional training with Off the Leash K9 Training. Training notes will be provided to help with his transition into his new home.

To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit.
We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself.
